Dearest Motion City Soundtrack Fans,

            I’d like to briefly fill you in on the events of the last week as best I can.  I have been struck down with some sort of virus that has rendered me voiceless.  I tried early on to kill the virus with massive doses of prescribed medicines from a competent doctor, but it was to no avail.  The virus has done significant damage.  The past couple of shows I tried to sing through the sickness and lack of voice as best I could, but it is to the point now where I can barely even speak.  I have been an emotional wreck because of this.  I feel much guilt for not being able to perform to the fullest of my capabilities, even though I know it is not entirely my fault.  I got sick.  It sucks, but it happens.  Rather than cancel the tour and go home, the boys of Motion City Soundtrack put their heads together to figure out a short-term solution to this problem.  Here’s what we came up with:  We asked members of the current tour we are on to fill in for me starting with the Boston date of this tour.  Unanimously, the generous boys of Say Anything, Saves The Day, and A Great Big Pile Of Leaves all said they’d all help a brother out.  I can’t tell you how relieved I am that this is happening.  I feel that this is the best possible solution to the problem at hand and I wanted you to know about it in advance.  I really do care what you think and want you to know how much I appreciate all the kind words you’ve said to me over the years and especially at the last few shows even though I couldn’t sing.  You are the reason I get to do this for a living and I want to ensure that I am able to do so in the future.  That being said, this Boston show is going to be ridiculous!  This will be an adventure of rockitude and generosity, the likes of which no human has ever known!  Thank you for understanding.
